San Antonio provides weekly blue cart recycling and green cart organics collection to eligible customers. Plastic bags are not accepted in the blue recycling cart, even when bundled.

San Antonio schedules brush and bulky collections separately
Eligible customers receive two brush passes and two bulky item passes each year. My Collection Day gives an estimate, but the official door hanger tells the resident when the correct pile may be placed.

Local limits before placement
Each brush or bulky pile is limited to eight cubic yards. Extra out of cycle service can be requested through 311. The current fee is $50 for one item or up to four cubic yards, plus $25 for each additional four cubic yards or portion.
Place the correct material within eight feet of the curb in front of the home, even when regular carts use an alley. Have the pile ready by 7 a.m. Monday of the assigned week and keep it clear of parked cars, low branches, meters, and vacant lots.

What may go in the bulk item pile
Accepted examples
Brush periods accept shrubs, tree branches, and woody vines. Bulky periods accept grills, small carpet pieces, up to six tires without rims, fencing, furniture, large appliances, mattresses, up to three televisions, and water heaters.
Not accepted
Do not mix brush into a bulky pile or bulky items into a brush pile. Construction and roofing debris, concrete, soil, rocks, household chemicals, glass, mirrors, grass clippings, and ordinary trash are excluded from curbside collection.
