Dallas collects household garbage once each week from eligible single family homes and duplexes. Place the gray cart at the approved curb or alley point by 7 a.m., no earlier than 6 p.m. the evening before.
Dallas collects residential recycling once each week, normally on the same day as garbage. Place accepted material loose in the blue cart and allow three feet of clearance on every side.

The normal monthly limit is 10 cubic yards. One approved oversize collection of up to 20 cubic yards is available each calendar year. Excess or noncompliant material is generally collected and billed at $60 per five cubic yards in five cubic yard increments, and citations may also apply.
Set items just behind the curb in front of the home from Thursday through Sunday before the assigned week. Keep the pile five feet from carts, mailboxes, fences, meters, hydrants, poles, signs, and parked cars, and never block a sidewalk or street.

Ordinary household garbage, business waste, construction or demolition debris, concrete, brick, dirt, electronics, tires, vehicle parts, household chemicals, and appliances containing coolant, gasoline, or other chemicals are excluded.
