Eligible single homes and buildings with seven or fewer units receive weekly single stream recycling. Place clean paper, cardboard, accepted plastics, metal, glass bottles and jars, and cartons loose in the cart.

Memphis accepts a small amount of yard material each week. Larger prepared leaf and branch volume should wait for the address's designated bulk week, especially during the fall cleanup season.
Keep the prepared pile within the City's published limit.
Use bags no larger than 60 gallons.
Tree pieces must also be less than 13 inches in diameter.
Keep vehicles at least four feet from the pile.

City Solid Waste and Team Waste can follow different holiday plans
Check the provider shown for the service address before applying a holiday notice. For Labor Day 2026, City Monday and Tuesday carts go out Tuesday, while Team Waste delays every route one day.
The current Labor Day notice combines those two City route days.

The delay continues through Saturday during Labor Day week.

Qualifying furniture, appliances, oversized household items, prepared leaves, and cut branches can use the address's assigned bulk route. Remove and seal refrigerator doors before setout.
Use another disposal option
Hazardous waste, contractor debris, commercial material, eviction cleanouts, blocked piles, and material outside the published size or preparation rules do not qualify.

Bulk service occurs twice each month. Keep an ordinary pile within one half cubic yard and place it within three feet of the street. Weekly yard service accepts up to two 60 gallon bags before excess material moves to the bulk week.
Place carts after 5 p.m. on the prior evening and by 7 a.m. on the collection day. Keep bulk material away from vehicles, mailboxes, fences, power lines, trees, and low branches.
