Big Blue household trash is collected weekly. Set carts out between 7 p.m. the evening before and 6 a.m. on collection day, with all trash bagged inside the cart.
Big Green recycling follows the address schedule in My Trash Day. The monthly service includes two Big Blue trash carts and one Big Green recycling cart.

How Oklahoma City service works
Use My Trash Day, the OKC Utilities account or app, or the water bill to find the assigned monthly date. Ordinary bulky collection does not require an appointment, but coolant appliances require a call to 405-297-2833.

Use the current monthly bulky waste date
Oklahoma City changed bulky routes for about 64,000 customers on March 1, 2026. My Trash Day now shows the current date, three day crew window, regular carts, and holiday information for the address.
Ordinary monthly collection does not require a separate appointment.
The City compares the included volume to two large refrigerators.
The assigned Monday or Wednesday starts the collection window.
Do not place the pile outside more than three days early.

Find the assigned date before building the pile
Oklahoma City includes one bulky waste collection each month for eligible residential customers. The My Trash Day map, utility account, mobile app, and water bill show the current date after the 2026 route changes.
No separate appointment is needed for ordinary bulky collection.
The route runs Monday through Wednesday or Wednesday through Friday.
Everything must be ready at the start of the assigned date.
Material placed out earlier can be treated as an improper setout.
Pile size and placement
Four cubic yards are included in the monthly fee
The included pile is about the size of two large refrigerators. Oklahoma City bills excess volume and requires approval before collecting a pile larger than 10 cubic yards.
The regular monthly utility fee covers this amount.
A pile from 4 through 10 cubic yards receives an excess charge.
The resident must approve the additional charge before collection.
Keep sidewalks, drains, meters, vehicles, trees, and overhead lines clear.

Choose the correct collection path
Accepted examples
Furniture, carpet, large appliances, fencing, small resident repair material, prepared glass, small trees, and qualifying landscape waste can be collected. Call ahead for refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and other coolant appliances.
Use another disposal option
Bagged waste, contractor debris, hazardous material, batteries, tires, automotive waste, concrete, bricks, dirt, explosives, and material placed on vacant property do not qualify for monthly bulky collection.

One collection is provided each month. The first four cubic yards are included. A pile from four through 10 cubic yards is billed for excess volume, and a larger pile requires approval before collection.
Set approved items out by 6 a.m. on the assigned date and no more than three days early. Leave five feet of clearance on every side and keep material off streets, driveways, sidewalks, drains, meters, and vacant property.
