Raleigh separates bulky loads, special loads, and e-waste into different request types for eligible city curbside customers.

A bulky or special load is limited to four cubic yards. Current city fees begin at $35 for a bulky load and $70 for a special load; up to four eligible e-waste items are collected free on Tuesdays.
Do not place items at the curb before scheduling. Follow the confirmed date and keep the four-cubic-yard pile within the city's dimensions.

Raleigh classifies the load before pickup. A couch may be a bulky load, an appliance may be a special load, and a television may belong in the separate e-waste service, with different fees for each.
