St. Petersburg residential trash routes run twice each week, either Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday. Use the official collection map or St. Pete Collects tool for the service address.
Curbside recycling is collected every other week on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday route. The address belongs to a color coded A or B collection zone shown on the official 2026 calendar.

Regular residential trash runs twice weekly and recycling runs every other week. Furniture, appliances, carpet, and excess material use the City's Special Pickup request instead of the ordinary truck.

- Yard material
- Leaves, grass, trimmings, palm fronds and branches. No plastic, metal or lumber mixed in.
- Separate logs
- Logs go only to 2500 26th Ave. S. Maximum 300 pounds and 34 inches in diameter; cut them shorter than five feet.

- Go with the contractor or provide the City's consent form, completed by both you and the business, for each delivery day. Keep waste from different addresses separate.

The City lists several household item quantities that may be collected at no charge, including up to three cubic yards of furniture, carpet, and appliances. Larger accumulated piles, building material, and excess brush may have a cubic yard charge.
Follow the location and date given with the request. Keep ordinary trash and yard material in their proper containers, and do not leave loose large items beside a regular cart without arranging Special Pickup.

What makes St. Petersburg service different
St. Petersburg's ordinary trash truck does not automatically take loose furniture or excess yard material. A Special Pickup request tells the City what is outside, whether the listed quantity is free, and whether a larger pile needs a quote.

Accepted examples
The City's published free item list includes limited quantities of furniture, carpet, appliances, mattresses, box springs, doors, windows, kitchen cabinets, car tires, car batteries, and empty fuel tanks.
Not accepted
Household hazardous waste, electronics, hot ashes, and oversized tree material do not belong in the normal trash container. Construction debris and large accumulated piles may require a paid quote or a different disposal site.
