Start here for the recurring household collections residents use most often.
Trash is collected weekly by Burrtec Waste Industries using black garbage containers.
Recyclables are collected weekly in blue containers (plastics #1-7, glass, metal, paper), and organic waste (including bagged food waste) is collected in green containers.

How Santa Clarita service works
Residents must schedule service at least 48 hours in advance by calling Burrtec Customer Service at (661) 222-2249 or using the online Request Services portal.
Check the service address first
Santa Clarita City and nearby County areas use different accounts
A Santa Clarita mailing address does not always identify the waste program. Homes inside the City use Burrtec's Santa Clarita City service, while nearby unincorporated communities use the Los Angeles County service page and a different customer service number. Confirm the account before relying on an allowance or collection instruction.
City customers can also use Burrtec's online Request Services portal.
Wait for confirmation before placing furniture, appliances, or mattresses outside.
The published City guidance limits each collection to three large items or ten bags.
Use this path only when the address is served through the County program.
Curb, drop off, and holiday choices
Burrtec offers a drop off option for extra household bulk
Take accepted bulky items and electronics to 25950 Springbrook Avenue, #202. Bring identification and a service invoice, and wear closed toe shoes. No household hazardous waste or construction debris is accepted. Electronics, including TVs, are drop off only, not part of curbside bulky collection.
The resident bulky item drop off operates Monday through Friday.
The published Saturday window runs from 8 a.m. to noon once each month.
A weekday Burrtec holiday moves the remaining collections back by one day.
Prepare mattresses before the confirmed curbside collection.
Common questions
Santa Clarita bulky item questions
Which Burrtec number should a Santa Clarita resident call?
Residents inside Santa Clarita City service use 661-222-2249. A nearby unincorporated Los Angeles County address may instead use 866-270-5370. Check the waste bill or the two official Burrtec service pages before relying on either program's allowance.
Can I drop bulky items off instead of waiting for collection?
Yes. The resident drop off at 25950 Springbrook Avenue, #202 opens Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the third Saturday of each month, 8 a.m. to noon. Bring your service invoice and ID. Accepted bulky materials include furniture, appliances, tires, carpet cut into four foot rolls, and mattresses wrapped in plastic.
What happens to Santa Clarita collection after a holiday?
Burrtec's published schedule says that when an observed holiday falls on a weekday, collection for the remainder of that week is delayed by one day. A holiday falling on Sunday does not create that service delay.
