Fontana households with Burrtec service receive three large or bulky item collections during a twelve month period at no additional charge. Give Burrtec the item list before collection so the crew can confirm what belongs in the appointment.
The current City brochure lists three residential collections at no extra charge.
Count each appliance, mattress, furniture piece, or other large object separately.
Call about one week before the regular collection day and wait for confirmation.

Regular carts, holidays, and hazardous waste
Weekly carts and special waste follow different rules
Burrtec collects Fontana trash in the black cart and recycling in the blue cart each week. The green cart is for organics, including yard material and properly bagged food waste. Paint, oil, cleaners, pesticides, batteries, and electronics belong in the household hazardous waste program instead of a bulky item pile.
Routes on and after New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas move back one day when affected.
Bring identification showing a Fontana address to use the resident facility.
The facility closes on published major holiday weekends.
No individual hazardous waste container may hold more than five gallons.

How many free bulky item pickups does Fontana provide?
The current City resident brochure says Burrtec provides three large or bulky item collections during a twelve month period at no extra charge. Each collection is limited to five items, and residents must call 909-822-9739 to arrange the date.
Does a Fontana holiday change my collection day?
It can. When an observed collection holiday affects the route, service scheduled on or after that holiday moves one day later for the remainder of the week. Check the official City holiday list before setting out carts or bulky items.
Where can Fontana residents take paint or electronics?
Use the household hazardous waste facility at 16454 Orange Way rather than a curbside bulky pile. It normally opens Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon, excluding listed holiday weekends, and requires identification showing a Fontana address.
